This is a locally sourced alien timber species which works very well as flooring timber. According to researchers at the Institute for Non-Invasive Diagnostics in Austria, Stone Pine's subtle fragrance has a positive influence on sleep behaviour. This type of wooden flooring is therefore highly recommended for installation in bedrooms and relaxation rooms. It is a dense / hard pine with defined grains and a high resin content. Another advantageous characteristic of Stone Pine is that it offers natural protection against insects. The sap-wood is pale while the heart wood is darker (Oregon pine colour). Knots and sapwood are a typical features in our boards.

We can use eucalyptus for flooring. We usually double kiln the wood to make sure it is properly dry. Gum or “eucalyptus” is a hard wood with a more uniform colour. Red gum has a red colour and sugar gum has a light beige colour.
